- developing initiatives for graduate students to share their work and/or to research together; in the past this has included organizing an interdisciplinary graduate conference in gender, sexuality, and women’s studies. Other options may include a reading group, a dissertation writing group, and other initiatives that suit the current needs of prospective and current GSWS graduate certificate students.
- encouraging graduate student participation in the pedagogy seminar for graduate students, which is organized by GSWS staff.
- chairing and convening meetings of the GSWS/APC
Graduate Student Advisory Board
In addition, the Graduate Associate maintains lists of affiliated students in SAS as well as in Annenberg, the School of Nursing, and the Law School, communicates with them regularly about relevant events and activities, and acts as an essential liaison between the Alice Paul Center, the GSWS program, and these students. Finally, the Graduate Associate attends weekly staff meetings, takes minutes of these meetings, and is expected to attend lectures and events where GSWS and APC are the primary sponsors when her/his schedule allows.
