About The Black Studies Podcast

The Black Studies podcast is a series of conversations examining the history of the field. Their conversations engage with a wide range of activists and scholars - senior figures in the field, late doctoral students, and everyone in between, culture workers, and political organizers - in order to explore the cultural and political meaning of Black Studies as an area of inquiry and its critical methods.

Screening Women Filmmakers is an essential collection of 58 essays, each focusing on a single film directed by a woman-identified filmmaker, inclusively defined, from the earliest days of filmmaking (1896) to the present day, and from countries and regions around the globe.
